Race the legendary Viper
No other modern car on the road today commands the kind of respect, awe and unabashed longing as the Dodge Viper. Forget Porche, Ferrari, Lamborghini; the Viper is not a gentleman's sports car, nor is it some rich playboy's weekend toy - it is 100% race car barely wrapped in a street legal shell. And now Sierra has put the Viper where it belongs - on the race track. Developed by Rich Garcia, the former head of Papyrus Design Group (NASCAR Racing anyone?), this is the real deal - with a state of the art graphics engine that features tire burnouts, computer generated crashes, transparent windows and environment mapped cars, and outstanding and realistic sounds effects. And don't thing you can get away with slamming into your competitors and racing away down the track, thanks to a full license from Chrysler and an unprecedented physics model these cars (unlike in other racing "simulations") can and do show damage that affects car performance. Slam into a fence and you could stuff the front end or break an axle. Just remember, thanks to the open structure of the tracks, you may just fly right over that fence and into the barn or grove of trees behind it - there's no such thing as a static background in Viper Racing. But don't worry, if you find the game too challenging you can play in "arcade" mode, this is a first for Sierra - and a kind nod to those of us whose last name isn't Gordon. If you're looking for a slick, cutting edge simulation that just happens to feature the coolest production car ever - this is your game!. This program has not yet been reviewed.
